Stencil: SGR7 Tunis
(30 x 30cm)
Note: The Better Homes & Gardens magazine incorrectly stated that the small canvas panels are 7.5cm square. To fit our 30cm square Tunis stencil you would need to buy 9 canvases that are at least 12cm square in size so that the total area of the 9 panels is 36cm square. Note: also in the August issue is the "Celtic Classics" craft project (page 38). Click below for details of the stencils used in this feature. (CE27 Motif No.1, CE38 Motif No. 9, CE28 Motif No.2, CE8 Border No.8)

Designer Caroline Quaine of Norman + Quaine fame made an inspiring decision when deciding to use our JA45 Mokko Pattern stencil to decorate a concrete floor. To complete such a project we suggest using artist acrylic paints such as Liquitex (medium viscosity) or Jo Sonja (artists' colours) for the stencilling as they dry quickly (in less than a minute) which means you don't have to wait before starting your next stencil repeat. Once the stencilling has been completed you'll need to protect your new artwork by using a concrete sealer. We recommend the White Knight Clear Sealer which has been designed for protecting stencilled concrete and adds a high gloss finish to the surface. If you want to stencil a timber floor, seal it afterwards with any good timber sealer such as Reflect Sealer/Polish or Peerless Gemini Sealer Finish.

In this month's INSIDEOUT magazine some of our most popular feather stencils have been used to add a bit of detail to a mirrored tile wall. The stencils were painted with a foam roller and permanent acrylic paint (Folk Art Enamels) to enable the mirror to be cleaned without removing the paint.

Alyssa-Jane Cook, host of Channel 10's morning DIY program, Home.Life.Style demonstrates how to create your own artwork using stencils. In this episode she shows viewers the step-by-step process to complete these amazing projects.
In the top photo, the DR2 Cherry Blossom designer range stencil was used to decorate 3 small canvasas to create a triptych (a set of three panels side by side bearing pictures). To create the look that has proven so popular in Europe the stalks and leaves were painted black and hot pink was used on the blossoms. The paints chosen for this project were Liquitex artist acrylics - Ivory Black & Medium Magenta.
In the second photo the JA137 Spider Chrysanthemum was stencilled in Rich Gold paint onto black art paper which was then framed.
